2016 CSA Agreement
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a partnership between a local farmer and members of a community. The community supports the agriculture, or the farm/garden, by becoming shareholders, stakeholders, and farm supporters. CSA promotes produce harvested at its culinary and nutritional height, local agriculture and recreating relationships between local farmers and local communities. This relationship benefits all participants, boosting individual, community, economic and environmental health. Unlike mainstream agriculture, where the farmer bears all the risk of crop failure and is often economically dependent on a single crop, a CSA partnership allows farmers to grow a diversity of crops and allows members to share the burdens as well as the bounty and blessings of a given season.
- Artisan Gardens CSA will sell memberships of our produce production in advance of the season allowing members to secure a share of high quality, fresh, chemically-free produce and herbs for the upcoming season.
- Each week during our season members receive a share of farm fresh seasonal produce grown using sustainable practices. We expect the season to begin sometime early July and end midOctober. This means we expect that members will receive 15-20 weekly produce distributions.
- Share distribution will be on Monday evenings, from 4:00 – 6:30 pm. If you (or a friend) are unable to pick up your share for some reason during distribution, we ask that you let us know in advance. We will place your share in the walk-in cooler for later pickup.
- Because we work with nature and nature is unpredictable, we ask for your patience if we have a cooler than average season, severe weather events, or a particular crop doesn’t do well. By growing a large variety of produce throughout the season, we are able to alleviate much of this risk. 36. We would be pleased and excited to have you join us for the season!
